I became smitten with this depiction of baseball exhibited at the 178th annual Dutchess County Fair, so much so that I am sharing it here.
The drawing presents multiple perspectives, a characteristic it shares with Cubism. Note how the bases are parallel to the picture plane while the figures appear in perspective, such as it has been represented. Also, as with Expressionism, the subjective perspective is distorted for emotional effect, to evoke a mood.
Such analysis is, of course, tongue-in-cheek. What the drawing has in abundance is charm. It may have earned a yellow ribbon at the county fair but it won first place in my heart.
